My name is Maura DeRose and I study journalism and film at a communications-focused high school. I have studied fashion at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design. I have studied art history and studio art at Barnard College of Columbia University.
After starting the arts section of my school newspaper, I became the editor of the in-depth features section, which produces the center-spread of the paper. I serve on the council of the Cultural Communications Club, which organizes volunteer events in the community and raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and I am a member of the National Honors Society and the Quill and Scroll International Honors Society. I serve as a Fashion Ambassador at my local Nordstrom department store.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing piano, studying French, visiting museums and seeing the national parks.
